Pearlscale Butterfly starting to eat coral

hey guys so I recently picked up a Pearlscale Butterfly and put it in my 110 reef system. he was okay on not picking at corals but today he just began to pick at one of my trumpet corals and I don't want him to continue eating anything. I do realize that butterflies have been known to eat coral but this one was okay. does anyone have some suggestions on how to keep the picking at corals down? I don't want to pull him out but if that's what I have to do I will and can sell him or trade for him.

Most butterfly fish are not reef safe even thou someone might had him in a reef tank and was great with reef, one day he WILL turn on you .... I had a Klein butteryfly fish and was great in reef for about a year ,then one day he went ham on my reef ... I would stay away for butterfly fish all together in a reef just my personal opinion Good luck

Hate to say it but I had a lemon peel angel in my reef tank a little over 4 years then he finally developed a taste for corals. Had to pull out over 2/3 of my entire rock work and coral to finally catch that *******. Tried traps for weeks and just kept loosing coral. Should have started with pulling rock so I could net him. Sold it to my lfs and made sure to let them know it was not reef safe.

Some people have luck with fish traps.
Or there is the most reliable sol'n: For your system you need 2 empty 55 gallon drums, a siphon hose and a submersible return pump. Drain the tank into the drums, pick the fish off the bottom and remove it, refill. No captive fish can escape "low tide."
