An airflow meter is the most valuable piece of equipment you can have for your skimmer. It is the ONLY way to determine whether or not your skimmer pump is functioning properly and that your skimmer is working at optimal efficiency. Referring to the posted average Air Flow Rates for your protein skimmer, you can quickly tell if the pump is pulling the correct amount of air or not. This will help greatly when trying to troubleshoot problems like loss of skimming efficiency, changes in foamate and skimmate production, and changes in bubbles density/ size in reaction chamber.
