      I would agree with the post about one of the best reefs in the country Ron....looks amazing. What do you attribute to your success as you have been a hobbyist for a long time? How often do you do water changes? Do you mix or use Scripps water? What kind of feeding and dosing do you do?

      Thanks Marlin! 😃

      One of the things I attribute my success to is the constant & consistent testing of water parameters. I monitor alkalinity levels very closely & often. Depending on where it’s at I test every 3-7 days. I do monthly water changes, on my previous reef I did water changes every two weeks and have not seen any negative effects with the less frequency.

      I use reef crystals salt by Instant Ocean. I’ve never used any other brand. Ro/di of course. I sporadically use Benepets reef nutrition. The only other product I dose is Reef Solution by Eco-systems.

      Calcium reactor deploys all of my calcium & alkalinity needs. Lots of fish in my 250 too, 38 total in my system. Feeding 1-3 times per day.
      Hope this helps.

      Water parameters-
      Alkalinity =8-9dkh
      Ph=7.9-8.2
      Magnesium =1350-1450
      Nitrate=2-5
      Phosphate=above zero & under .08
      Calcium =420-470

      Looking good, but it looks like you're due for an upgrade. How do you like those XHO's?

      Thanks for sharing Ron. Excellent to hear you are getting away with monthly water changes. Cheers!

      Amazing. How often are you having to adjust the effluent on the reactor?
