      T5 ballast wiring

Any electricians on here? Is it possible to wire up 5 2x39w t5 ballast to one power cord?

yes. DONT use a cheap cord. make sure you ground the ballast AND the fixture(s). t5 give off a lot of EMF so stray voltage builds up.
PIA but I ran a ground from each retro reflector.(daisy chain). And still had residual voltage. (t5 8in over tank in canopy)
I still had minor residual voltage (t5 and pumps + p heads) and got a grounding probe.

      $12

What would be a good cord? Is there a certain spec I should look for?

one for a computer is fine. Lamp cord is not. if it feels thin it is.
if your going to Home depot 12/3 or 14/3 insulated (sjo) with a grounded Hubbel.

If your near SDSU hit me up I have lots.
