      The pump was fine external, though I must admit my test was not super thorough. I lifted it out of the water and just had the tip going into the sink with the tub returning back, I don't think it'll leak but I am not sure. I used that 6 quart tupperware for the reservoir because it was like $1 or $2 at home depot.

      That's just a fail safe (snail safe) in case a snail or something makes the bottom switch get stuck down, if the top switch is activated it will break the circuit. Now if two snails team up and block both I'll have a pico flood!
