Just want to share my way: the nature way. I let my rocks outside the house, ants crawl all over it and eat whatever they find until there is nothing and the ants automatic leave. Then i leave the rocks out in the open, under sun for over two weeks. All rocks then turn nicely white and clean.

Boiling rock could also cause a steam expansion explosion event. Not safe.

I think the boiling rock poisoning is related to cooking attached paly's.

To chemically cook rock I would use a Kalkwasser soak, and then rinse and dry.

Or I's go to a buddies house with my rocks in a 5 gallon bucket and fill the bucket with beer from his fridge.

Not my beer! That's for drinkin.
