Mine is here this thing is sweet, the light isn't half bad for the size of the tank, I will probably run it un-modified and see how it goes. It is defiantly getting a stand made, sump made, drilled, painted and overflow made this weekend for it to get it ready for mid March

I think for a contest like this I've seen it before where a budget is set...and documentation of purchases are proven...just so everyone's on the same level. Cuz someone might have deeper pockets and make their look beastly and buy the most expensive corals etc. And I think their should be a deadline for livestock addition...someone could just add everything last month before deadline...or require monthly photo update.

Wish someone would sponsor a prize for this...Aqua SD? Reefers Garage?

IMO, I'd like to see un-modified tanks. Keep it on a level field in that way where everyone is working w/the same foundation. Then it would be a contest of reef-keeping skills, artistic ability or reef-scaping. Chiller, heater, ATO could/would be the only exceptions. Looking forward to some friendly competition. Will be fun to see what everyone comes up with. Happy reef-keeping!

ABout to order mine when my paycheck comes in on Friday. But I agree with sdnd because I know I'm not the richest person in the world but I love this hobby but I've seen some Narley corals out there for some good amount of money but I would love to see some great tanks. that would be awesome if we got like a sponsor or something.

There's nothing wrong with enjoying looking at the surface of the ocean itself, except that when you finally see what goes on underwater,you realize that you've been missing the whole point of the ocean. Staying on the surface all the time is like going to the circus and staring at the outside.

Well it seems more people want to see un modified tanks as apposed to modified, let's get a roll call of participants and put next to your name if you want:
-modified with a sump no larger than 10 gal
Or
-un-modified using only the equipment from the kit, no extra powerheads or filters or anything obviously you can replace the media and such as needed lol

I will start:
Tim (SWPLimited), I would like to also see un-modified tanks using only the equipment from the kit no extra equipment

After this vote is over and we have a full roll call (hopefully more than 4 people) I will start a new thread in either the nano tank or member tank area and post the rules there as well as a time line and participants names, no late entries after the date we all put water in (thinking March 19th, that's a Saturday)

As for a budget on livestock, I don't think that would work only due to the fact my livestock will cost me nothing because it will be Fragged out of my other tanks and such, I think if someone wants to try and put a RR pink floyd colony in a 3 gal pico and try and keep if for 6 months I wish them luck lol, although I think for the sake of this competition all livestock added should be frags, not mini colonies or an already established rocks covered in a zoa garden from another tank, just my opinion
