Rudys 48x18x12 shallow long tank

So I've been working on this tank since reefapalooza and finally have it set up and running.

Here are some pics of the tank when I got it.



So once I had the tank I had to get a stand-

Daveocean for making my awesome stand:great work super strong and easy access. Couldn't of have asked for a better stand

it was awesome how he made a removable face for the stand- great work.


Once I got it home I had some help to stain and coat it with polyurethane and some other stuff

Please do not do his inside house, smell is very strong😆.
So once I stained it, wife banished me to outside and then I started putting some poly

After all that was done- it was time to bring it in and put it where I wanted it- and add a sump- thanks to Kris for the sump




next step was plumbing:
Shout out to Fidel/ A.K.A Guineaguy great job bro





Last was adding water and testing. All done- passed and so I started to get it wet!!!



Next step will be to add black sand and to upgrade my lights, still debating on what lights. Any recommendations?

There's nothing wrong with enjoying looking at the surface of the ocean itself, except that when you finally see what goes on underwater,you realize that you've been missing the whole point of the ocean. Staying on the surface all the time is like going to the circus and staring at the outside.

Thanks guys and yeah I just need to add the finishing touches, I'll post more pics, thanks Dave for all the amazing stand work! I'll be seeing you later for that chaeto.

Looking good. One question. What is the gray hose thing attached to the drain right before the sock and how is it attached to the pvc? Is this to help reduce noise?

I thought that you had sold the Palooza tank.
It looks nice over my ex-sump. I hope I can still visit her sometime.

I'd hit Louie up and get one of those new LED set-ups that he hung in the upgrade Garage. If I wasn't the king of cheap I'd get one and put some color in my tank.
