Those are some pretty awesome pics! The real question is how much you selling the new lens cover for. ;-)

I'll make another one tonight and time how long it takes me. The cost in materials is maybe 4 Bucks depending on how many I can crank out before replacing the router bit. If you want one say 10 bucks.... I'll bring one or two to the equipment swap at reefers garage this Saturday.
That sounds like a deal! :-)

I was only kidding about the iPhone.... Next post explains I'm using a canon t5i.
I will swing by Home Depot today and pickup some more parts and mgm for some more acrylic glue. I'll try to make a few maybe in some various sizes depending on what HD has.
Those are some fantastic shots!
I bought an extra lens hood for the Macro lens I have for my T4i for this very purpose but I have not found the time to assemble it yet. Great work!

Version 2.0
Cost went up quite a bit, but still crazy cheap for how much improved my pictures are. Those 3" couplers at home depot are just really cheap at .89. I went to a specialty plumbing supply store today and picked up 3, 2.5" couplers but they are 2.85 each. I also added the three thumb screws to fasten the cover to the lens. It allows me to turn the cover to zoom in or out. I still have to rely on auto focus, but that seems to be fine 95% of the time.
Comparison of the 3" to the 2.5"
I ordered 100 of those thumb screws from amazon, should be here in a couple days. I purchased the rest of the 3" couplers HD had in stock, all three of them. Im not sure if all lenses are the same diameter or not but I figured it would be good to have both 2.5" and 3"
If anyone is interested in one just let me know, I think the $10 price point is still within reason. I am not going to polish the routered edge, I did a quick sand with 400 - 600 - 800 and the result is completely acceptable. In order to get the polished result it takes me at least 30 min of wet sanding and buffing, and that just doesn't make it cost effective. I finished 3 of these in just over 35 minutes, and could have done a few more but didn't want to make more noise with the saw after my little one fell asleep.
Also I was way off on the garage sale at reefers garage, it isn't until sunday the 25th. I can bring some with me then, and I will bring some to the sdmas meeting next thursday.

Played a little more with the lens cover. New pics of this weekends bounty from reef raft and reefers garage sales. Lots of the sps from reef raft sale had lost most of their colors due to the shop closing down and moving corals between tanks as they shut each one down. Really excited to eventually find out what these will look like. If anyone has any info on any unknown coral please chime in.
Jason Fox Jack-O-Lantern Leptoseris (It is a crazy small piece, but can't beat it for a couple bucks from reef raft)
