I am not running a calcium reactor but it seems like your settings would work just fine.

Too dangerous in my opinion if you have alkalinity sensitive SPS. I know from experience how much my reactor provides and how much the corals need so it is pretty much set and forget for a month at a time. A controller would rely on a pH electrode, yes? pH probes are not the most reliable things.
get dosing pumps way better control. IMO
I control mine via an apex but also have the aquarium plants doser for redundancy.
My apex has the carbon released when pH is between 6.2-6.8. Went the pH drops to low, the apex shuts the CO2 off and then back on when the pH gets above 6.8. The AP doser keeps the bubble rate constant as well. This set up has been great for 6months no problem
