No prob. Do you have carbon? If you do try throwing in a lot of it.

But I'm dosing the tank with copper, is it ok to throw carbon in there tonight and do a 50% fresh saltwater change tomorow? It's a 75g tank

Not sure about that, never used copper dosing before, try a Google search. Carbon might nullify the copper, but so would a water change. Something should probably be done abount the ammonia before you lose livestock, unless the tank is cycling?

The qt tank is 3 weeks old and the water was used from my main display tank. This sucks! I'm going to do a 50% water change tomorow after work and then dose cooper again, because it's due for another copper treatment tomorow anyway

Huh, not really sure about copper dosing. I thought copper was bad for tanks? Unless the directions call for it I would be carefull changing that much water in such a new tank, it might cause it to cycle again. Also, I have had tanks cycle even when using water from established tanks because the tank itself was not established. Maybe it is cycling again? I would watch the parameters closely until it is stable.

I'm dosing copper in my quarantine tank, because I had a ich outbreak on my main display. All my fishes are in my 75 gallon qt tank right now. When I first moved them I used water from my main display but the last three water changes were freshly mixed saltwater.

I had a similar issue a couple of months ago, but not to the same scale as yours and i wasn't dosing with copper. I had a 10 gallon cycled QT going then tested ammonia using API test kits and that color turned green. I changed water right away then posted on boards. The first thing that people told me is that I was probably getting a false reading on my API test kits. They measure total ammonia, but the real problematic ammonia is free ammonia. I would suggest getting one of those Seachem API test kits. Hopefully, this is the same case as yours considering you did a 20 gallon water change yesterday.

However, as insurance in your situation now, I would add live rock/ any media (if you have access to them) into that tank that may have bacteria to counter the ammonia. The rock and media can never be used in your Dt or any tank as it may have traces of copper.

It must be cycling. Just keep changing with fresh h2o, that's what I would do. Also try PraziPro for disease treatment.

I just re-read this thread and realized what you wrote. If its only been going for 3 weeks, it maybe still cycling.

I would definitely do a water change as soon as you can and get a better test kit (if you're using those API ones).
