Fragging Toadstool Leather in the tank

      Hello Everyone

So I have been doing some research on fragging my huge toadstool leather. He is just taking up to much real estate in my tank. Problem is the rock he is sitting on has a bunch of other rocks stacked on top of it so I cant take it out easily.

My question is can I frag him up in the tank? Just give him a trim, or will the mucus he produces make my tank toxic?

      Thanks Arnold

From what I've heard it's only bad for SPS.. I think you can run a siphon and direct it on top of where you're fragging to minimize the effect.. Waiting on experts ~

I frag leathers, Sarcophyton and Sinularia spp. in the tank, always have. Big ones too. Never a problem for corals or fish. I use a sharp razor blade. Tank is full of SPS, clams, fish, gorgonians, other softies etc.

If you are concerned about chemical compounds leaching out, run some fresh carbon at the same time you do it.
