      Need some advice on equipment

      Hello everyone,

I am building a new stand for my tank to allow for a larger sump, and would like some advice. Below are my current specs (comments/recommendations welcome):

      Current equipment:
      60 gallon (about 48 x 16 x 18)
      20 gallon sump
      Rio+ Aqua 2500 return pump (about 700gph)
      Circulation Pumps (2 x 600gph, 1 x 800gph, 1x525 gph)
      ASM MINI G Protein Skimmer
Current USA Orbit Marine Aquarium LED Light, 48 to 60-Inch
      300 watt heater
      Live rock, sand, etc.

      Livestock:
      2 Clowns
      2 Cardinalfish
      1 Yellow Watchman Goby
2 Bar Gobys / Zebra Barred Dartfish
      1 Sixline Wrasse
      1 Pistol Shrimp
      1 Fire Shrimp
      1 Coral Banded Shrimp
Soft and LPS corals (15 - 20 small frags)

      ADVICE #1: 55 gallon sump
I am going to swap out my 20 gallon DIY sump for a 55 gallon DIY sump, and use the same equipment. There will be about 18" of headroom between the top of the stand and the sump once enclosed. Is there anything I should consider if using a sump this large?

      Advice 2: Wavemaker
      Am considering this wavemaker:
      Jebao RW-4 Wavemaker with Controller
      http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=AA97WJUSQ1EKJ
Anyone using it? Should I opt for something else? Was probably going to replace my 800 GPH pump with it.

      Advice 3: ATO
      Am considering this ATO
      http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

      Advice 4:
      Thoughts on this RODI system:
      http://www.amazon.com/Aquarium-II-St...s=RODI+7+stage

      Advice 4:
Considering more fish after I upgrade the sump:
      1. Midas Blenny
      2. Flame Angel
      3. TBD

I'll post photos of my current setup and in-progress stand.

      Thanks in advance.

Well, when I try to post using Tapatalk, I keep getting an error that says "You do not have permissions to post in this forum"... so weird.

      biggest sump is a must
be careful of height so your able to service equipment if needed.

wavemaker MP's are my personal favorite.

Brand of ATO your chosing I dont trust. Try jbj or Efins anything but that brand.

You only need a 50 GPD RO/DI for that size tanks needs IMO.

      Livestock list looks great.

Good luck look forward to build ;]

You may consider a Jebao RW-8 Wavemaker instead of the RW-4 since your tank is 48" long.
As for RODI system I don't know much about the one you listed, but I consider Spectrapure to be one of the best out there. I have the 95-Stage RO/DI System and I am very happy with it.

      Good luck!

+1 on the rw-8 gives you more room to turn it up if you need more flow. or you can always dial it down. i have an rw-4 in my 24g nano and i run it close to full blast.

as for the sump...make sure you can work under it and that you can remove a skimmer easily to clean...this is one mistake i made when i designed my sump....bigger is better but not if its at the inconvenience of maintenance.

rodi i would check out brs or pick up a used one on the forums on the cheap.

as for ato invest in a good one...it'll last awhile and also you don't want one that malfunctions either..could be a mess. i recommend tunze.

      fish list looks good!

      good luck and have fun!

Thanks everyone! I ended up getting the rw-8 and will check other other ATOs. I think when I tear everything down I might replace the sand. It's extremely fine and it always bowing around the tank. I do have sand sifting fish so I don't want it to be too coarse. Thinking Fiji pink?

      Here is a few photos.

Not much yet. Will probably be a multi week project.
