      Question Opinions for RO/DI system

Ok so it's just a p.i.t.a. to always hit up a.w. for 10 to 50g randomly or if something goes wrong and it's late I have no access to any water what so ever.
I am try to get opinions from those with experience in regards to quality/quantity/ease of use/etc..

Looking to spend around $200 to $300 range would like it to have a
      -tds meter
      -filters that last long
      -simple maintenance
-easy setup (never had one so clueless)
      -supplies enough for a 8g nano & 80g w/ 50g sump
      - 5 or 6 stage

Any other specs or opions more than welcome.
      Thanks in advance
      Mike

      Bought this from BRS: http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/brs-4-...m-75gpd-1.html

Already has a TDS meter and pressure gauge. I get pretty crappy water pressure so I will likely invest in a booster pump soon.

I have a 100 gallon, 50 gallon, and numerous 10 QT tanks and it produces enough water for me.

Setup was very easy. (i bought a coralife, initially and returned that thing because it was a pain. Always leaked on me).

I bought 4 months ago and replaced the DI resin already.

Since youre looking a 5-6 stage, I would look at BRS also.

I just bought that 4 stage one that marine depot had for like $135 100gpd , it seems to be just as good quality as any other I've seen... It doesn't have some of the stuff you want but a great deal if you ask me... Oh and free shipping and came the next day...

Most of the RODI are all pretty similar other than features. I think Larry had a 5 stage for sale with a TDS meter. As far as filters that last long, that is entirely dependent on the state of the tap water going into the system. The best way to preserve your DI and RO membranes (expensive ones) is routine replacement of the micron and carbon filters (cheap ones). I don't really know what you gain by going to 5 or 6 stage. A standard 4 stage will output 0 TDS water for a while before needing any filters replaced. Ease of setup will also depend on your situation, where you decide to put it and how you decide to hook it up. Since I'm in an apartment and only have a 25 gallon tank I only set up mine as needed. I just use a faucet to hose adapter on the kitchen sink and I'm ready to go in 2 minutes. Maintenance will be about the same for most systems as well, basically just replace a filter here and there to preserve the membranes. As far as supplies, I just keep an extra set of filters handy so I don't have to run to AW at the drop of a hat. I get all my filters there though and they work great. I think my system originally came with a 10 micron filter but the 20 micron that AW sells is sufficient.

So when would it be required or recommended for a 5 to 6 stage system then?
