Sorry for asking so many questions...
I found a 28 Gallon JBJ Nanocube HQI with stand, 2 accela pumps, and wave maker for $250
It seems like a good deal to me, but I am a total n00b. Any opinions?

Yeah it's a pretty good
Yea if the tanks in good shape no salt creep and everything with it functions properly it's a nice little setup
Chireef might be selling his soon. Hit him up, I've seen it, it's in really good shape, it will be perfect for you
We would need more info on the condition of the set-up? Glass chips/scratches? Stand finish, hinges, or water damage?
If the tank and stand are pristine, Great Price!
Used equipment and condition(s) that each of us needs to be "happy" is contingent upon the buyers preference.
It is fairly easy to test the lights and pumps before you buy.
On glass tanks, watch for seal issues and chips or hairline cracks on any of the edges. Bad seals become leaks, and chips can easily erupt into cracks which become total system fails(TSF!) TSF's will cause even a free tank to seem like a bad deal. Good luck!
Hmm... I need to be careful. I don't know anything, so I could probably miss something easily. Should I just examine it super carefully for any kind of chips or cracks at all?
Also what is salt creep? I can figure what it is, but is this salt creep onto the stand or up into the light fixture or what?
I will msg chireef thank you A.M
These types have been going for >$150 pretty regularly, keep an eye out or search past threads to get an idea on what to pay
+1 ......
..also make Google your best friend.... Example...if you are looking for a pump and you find one on the boards,Google the type it is,the reviews it has, gallons per hour, the cost of it NEW,how many you need for your tank....etc....In this case you said it's a 28g tank....you know what come with it.....so Google the tank, what you need, what you MAY need,(sand,rock,skimmer,chiller).etc...and go from there..and like mention above go thru equipment to see what they normally run for(on this site) CONDITION is key...look under the members tank build, you WILL learn a lot from reading and following build thread..... Hope this help ...good luck. My

The hqi is an older model and refers to the metal halide lamps in the hood. That's a lot of light and a lot of heat. The led version and compact flow version may be a better choice.
