I'll see if I can make the August meeting...so is clothing optional?
For your wife or girlfriend, yes. For you, NO!

Ricestudios- the club is a great way for people to see many differant types of set-ups and learn about reef and fishkeeping, it's not like the high school science club Newcommers are always welcome. Everyone here is invited to my house in August, just don't forget that it's customary to bring the host your best frags (shut up Chap, this might work ) - D

I was at meeting. Those who didn't go missed out. Yes all new comers are welcome. There are no fine print any where says "experienced reefers only".

I feel like it'll be like a reefers anonymuos meeting.

"Hi, my name is Ron and I'm a reefer"

Lol, double meaning...anyway, it sound like fun. Hopefully my new reef will be all set up and ready for frags by the next meeting.

Well last nights meeting was pretty cool........it was at Bob Fenner's (author of The Conscientious Marine Aquarist) house. He showed us some incredible footage of his dive trip to the Red Sea. We had Ocean Nutrition there with some samples of thier great coral and fish food products.

Like everyone else has said the group (SDMAS) does not require any particular level of exprience just a desire to contribute to the passion/sickness of caring and maintaining salt (reef and fish only) water aquariums. I personally like going to share my expriences with others and hopefully through sharing our joint expriences we can learn to better care for our tanks........man was that sappy.

well said, Jasen. Nice to see you again at the meeting. How's your tank doing?

I like the club, because I like the fact that together we achieve more. You get to meet ppl from different walks of life. You get to make lots of friends. When u have problem with your tank you can count on ppl(ppl you know and trust) will give you advice and help you out. Plus we get to do things that most ppl can't do or very few ppl can, unless they are well connected. Like samples from Liquid Life USA, ocean nutrition or behind the scene tours of (Birch aqua, long beach aqua., sea world== normally clubs tour are longer and in depth than the average ppl's tour), ability of tap in to resources/experiences of other clubs like MASLAC, SCMAS(they are bigger in size, they have the ability to have more speakers to talk to their members, have x-mas party w/ donations from whole sellers for ruffle...and a lot more).
