How do you clean a deep tank?

So I neglected cleaning my front glass of my tank for a month now and near the bottom theres starting to be some "build up" green algae...tried using a mag float but its not cleaning it well and don't want to get too close to the sand bed cuz i'm afraid to scratch up the glass...

so how do you clean your glass tanks if you have a deep tank?

just trying to get ideas...been using the mr clean eraser but trying to find a clever way to attach it to something to get down there...let me hear your opinions!

      Evolve longer arms?

When i had sand, i would move it away from the glass so that i could then use a scraper (or eraser) without picking up any substrate. I generally use magnets, and eventually no matter how careful I tried to be I would still somehow pick up some gravel and make a nice scratch,....

Just about every LFS sells long scrapers for glass or acrylic tanks. It is worth the investment to save yourself from wet sleeves.

      I have the scrapper...

      This one... http://www.amazon.com/KollerCraft-Al...=algae+scraper

already somehow got a tiny scratch on the glass...so been trying to avoid using it...even with the razor edge...

i find the magic eraser has been the best thing for glass and acrylic...have not scratched yet and removes really hard stubborn algae...just don't want to have to climb a ladder to get down there...its like 30" deep to the substrate and another 32" on the stand....lol

and i thought i have long arms but its still a pita!

tried rubber banding the magic eraser to an acrylic rod but not strong enough it slips and slides...against the glass..and doesn't help that it has euro bracing even harder at an angle...hahahaha

I'm all about the clean razor blade. I bought a car dealer sticker remover so i could replace the blades. Works great, although rusts very quickly!

mag float with scraper attachment. You can go into your substrate without the magnet picking up sand. They have them at AW next to the register.
