This sounds like a scam... Your thoughts?

I have a $500 tank for sale on Craigslist. Was just texted the below fishy sounding message from an Arizona area-code number. Does this sound like a scam?

(After first texting me asking if the aquarium was still available)

"Hi,Am glad it's available, I will instruct my assistant to prepare and mail your payment which I'm sure you will get in about 2 to 3 business days. I'll add $50 extra for the delay. I'll pay by CASHIER CHECK, Pls let me know where to send your payment i wont want to loose it to someone else so send me your info (i.e full name, mailing address and NOTEI will also make arrangement for pick-up which will be after you must have received and cashed the payment). Awaiting your info. Thanks Steve."

FOLLOW-UP:

I replied saying "Hello Steve. Are you located locally?"


And he wrote back: "i would have prefer meeting with cash but am a busy man, am heading a project which takes most most of my time, thats why am adding $50 extra for the delay, so send me your info (i.e full name, mailing address) so payment can be mailed out immediately"

Yup. Scam. Now if I ever post on Craigslist nowadays selling anything of worth. I list as cash only and no shipping. They still try but not as much. Lol

Couple years ago my niece tried selling her iPhone with that stupid bird game installed on it. She almost fell for it. But they noticed that the paypal account was a fake.

Don't sell if their assistant has to buy it for them. Lol

If someone's grammar is that bad, I doubt they have an assistant. Aside from that, checks not made to the correct amount are huge red flags.
