That overflow is nice for diy bro good job
Nice job with the overflow!!
Very nice work daddy.
Looks great. Good job on the overflow box. Yeah bending them with a heat gun takes forever, that's why I built a bender when I was doing a lot more acrylic work

Very Nice!
Clean work brotha
Thanks. Ill keep posting pics along the way. I will finish the stand and then place it all in the house...then plumb it once my pump comes in.
This is definitely a good learning process and i wanted to share just in case anything from here helps someone else on their build. .
A bender is handy...but the acrylic would still need to be soft(heated) to bend correct?
The bender heats it. I use a pc power supply and the nichrome wire from an old hair dryer. A current through the wire from the power supply heats the wire under the acrylic and after a few minutes the acrylic is hot and ready to bend along a thin hot line

Ok, the overflow is in but i need to test it tomorrow. Meanwhile, i had a little time so decided to start adding the trim so here are some pics of the progress.
Here is a side pic with the top, corners and bottom in place.
A pic of the front. I left one corner undone so you can see the difference.
Ok, all trim in place. (Filled in nail holes and will sand it tomorrow to get ut ready for paint) i need to build the doors but that can be last since i can nstall them after it running.
Also, i pieced together the plumbing to see how it fits and how it would look. I havent seen this setup before so im curious how it will work. He he. I will paint the plumbing black to help blend them into background. I dont have the return nozzles and hardware but will have that soon.
Close up of the how it will return into tank. I can still cut pipe to size and positioning/rotating angle is easy. This was just a test run.
I connected a DCT4000 and it has good flow in the tank, but thats on highest setting...but the drain could not keep up so make a lot of noise. I can hear the draining from upstairs. Ha ha. Dialing it down to match drain is much quieter but the flow in the tank isnt where i want it to be.
I know a bigger drain (or two, or bean animal etc) would have helped but i want to keep as much volume available as possible in display
