      Tangs

So I want to add 2 more tangs to the tank. Probably a yellow tang and a powder blue, or a purple and kole.
Problem is, I'm unsure if I will be okay adding them. I have a juvenile tommi I tang, copperbanded b, melenarius wrasse, bandit frostbite occelaris, 4x XL bluegreen cromis, royal gramma. All fish are peaceful with each other, healthy and eating well. The royal gramma is the only fish that likes to hide alot but is healthy, eating and warming up to everyone slowly. I think the melenarius scares him.

So yeah, I want to add two more tangs but not sure if it will be okay since I have the tommi already in there. I don't want him to get bullied and or attack the new tangs. Would it be okay to add 2 more tangs? I just read that if having more than one tang, they should be introduced at the same time and only one kind per tank is advised. I see others tanks with several tangs. I feel so dumb asking this but would like to hear some input.
      Tank is a 125g 72x18x24 with a 40g sump, kz rev s skimmer.
I would like to add 2 more tangs and an accessor to the tank and that would do it for fish.
Hope I posted this in the right section, help fellas

It's possible. I had about 15 tangs in my previous 300 gallon at one point. At least the three tangs you want will be different types which lowers the chance of aggression. But you never know. You still need to watch their behavior once they're all in the tank.

I've had to remove newly added tangs within hours of placing in tank because there was too much aggression.

Yeah, its very possible but just check their behavior. I had 4 tangs in my 125g (2 yellow, 2 blue hippo) and they were fine. all of them are different sizes ranging from 3" - 7". The bigger tang chases the smaller ones around (she also chases the other fish time to time) but does not attack them.

      Good luck.

      my experience
      50/50

depends on bio load capability / tangs attitudes.
If there tank raised or wild caught,
& amount of food available through out feedings.

      Thanks for everyone's input.
Do you think adding juvenile tangs would be better than adults

Here is a simple trick that has worked well for me in the past, especially with respect to my PBT. Place a couple mirrors directly up against the tank. This will help diffuse potential aggression as the tangs spend time fighting their image in the mirror.

You should be able to add either pair, but add them at the same time. Very small juvenile tangs have much less chance of making it in an established tank and especially with the Tomini. I always thought bristle tooth types were less aggressive, but my tomini has a hard time tolerating any new fish additions. She has never shown aggression against my other tangs.

Disease is the biggest problem as any new tang from a store is going to carry ich possibly other disease. So unless you quarantine and treat if necessary my guess is that disease will be the biggest issue as it can spread then to the other fish. Newly introduced tangs will get stressed out which makes them loose all immunity they possibly had before.

And watch out for the tang police lol.

One more thing. It is best to get established tangs from someones else reef provided that they are healthy. Much better chance almost always for successful intro IMO, especially with tangs.

Thanks, I'm still looking for some. Can't decide which ones to go with.
