Well my frag tank has run out of room so i wanted to make a frag rack for my display to hold some extras. I have a pile of scrap acrylic and figured it wouldn't take me long to build one, I was wrong. Spent the first 30 minutes cracking acrylic with drill bits that just didn't work trying to make half inch holes fairly close together. I finally found a 1/2" 4 flute end mill at a slow speed worked perfect and got to drilling.
My final rack ended up smaller than i had originally planned but it still has holes for 39 frag plugs. I cut it down to size with my table saw and a dull blade. Thats what i get for using it to cut aluminum as well.
I welded the pieces together with some weldon 4. And made some countersunk holes for the magnets to go. Then i added another piece of acrylic over the magnets to seal them in.
Here is in the tank. Unfortunately the magnets i had aren't quite strong enough to support the rack once it is full of frags. I was planning on mounting the exterior magnets in a pice of acrylic similar to the ones in the tank. But i put that project on hold for now. I went ahead and ordered some stronger magnets and will make a new improved version once they get here.
