Is this flukes? He is in qt with cupramine since i got him a couple weeks ago. We fresh water dipped him last night. He seems to still be eating. Should I switch to a different qt medication?

Those almost look like open wounds or something. It's hard to tell but are they parasites, or wounds ?

I don't really know they just kinda showed up I had him for about 10 days when this showed up. It looks kinda like scabbing or a growth. It looked white before I FW dipped.

Look like he has been itching himself...but I don't have a lot of knowledge on other parasites and what they look like...tagging along to find out

doesnt look like ich , ich is usually a lot of tiny bumps, a picture before dip would help but he might have scratched himself up trying to remove the ich. Look up cotton wool disease or flat worms, I have the same tang and it turned white in the flat worm areas. Did you see any swelling that look like bloated scales during the dip? Ill post a pic of mine minutes after the dip when it had flat worms.

Hey Brotha. Pretty sure its not Ich. Check out Chucksaddiction.com he has a lot of info on parasites and disease. He goes into detail as well about fish stress and it's weakening of their immune systems.
FW dip was prob the best thing you could have done IMO. (stuff changed color). I vote parasite as it fed on your food and bacteria and grew. AS I recall you have a young tank too.
There is a treatment called Methlyne blue. Its kills off any residual parasites and bacteria and helps the animal get more oxygen and helps reduce stress. ( if you lived closer Id let you borrow mine, it takes drops)
Go slow, keep the QT. Reduce the animal stress by making changes slow.

Be warned Methelyne blue will kill all your inverts and benificial bacteria in your tank. Your quarantine will become a hospital tank, medicine only.

Experts Jump in Pls. Googling fish disease can be pretty gross.

Thanks guys I should have taken pictures before but it was late just finished a 12 hour work day and the last thing I wanted to come home too was my fish sick.....im 90% sure its not ich as ich is tiny these are pretty big. I'm on my way home now to check on him but he wasn't looking good this morning.



This fish hasn't ever been in my display tank I just got him about 2 weeks ago and he went straight into a semi establishes qt (4months running constantly for my new additions. I did do a water change last night as my nitrates were a little high but not too terrible as well.

Nope. I was talking to The girl who works there Amanda, near the big display. We got in the car and My wife said there was a guy showing a pic from your post and buying the Blue. I was envying the sea fans, she was pretty caught up on the ACRO sale.
She bought TEN.

Oh ok. Yeah Trevor seemed to think it was a infection or fungus. I was buying some melafix to treat. But unfortunately when I got home my fish had already died. Really bummed that i lost it. I think I might see if vets still has the other one that was there last week. I really like this fish but am torn between this one and an Achilles now....im gonna clean out my qt wash the one rock I had in there just in case it was a parasite

Id wait a while even if cleaning your qt tank and tank and get everything dialed in, Chris will get another for you, just may take a while as some are seasonal. I asked him for the scotts wrasse and barienne tang and when he saw some nice ones he got them. I mentioned mine had been ill above and had flat worms but is now back in the tank. It sucks losing a fish but losing a second can be worse. When a fish was healthy and gets ill in your system, you have to think about why, was it the fish or something in your system that is off. Ill post the pic of mine post dip jut so others can see it, promise next week on the pic, tough week and I am behind art work with some family problems.
