      Foam

      Just filled new tank and I'm getting a lot of foam through the return sock in sump

      Is the sock clean? Did you use soap to clean it? Maybe there's soap in the sock. Don't use soap on socks if you do.
      Try taking the sock out and see if there's still foam in the sump.
      Also you can hold the sock under running water and wring it out to see if it foams up.
      How is your skimmer reacting?

      I'd run some carbon just to be safe until you find the problem.

      I'm thinking ice cold water there is no sock water was 53 degrees possibly the problem dry dry rock Simi New sand about a month old

      No skimmer?

      +1 on what Rudy said but the sand can cause that problem

      I got tired of it and drained the whole system will mix all new ro water for the next few days

      I would rinse the sand with RO water a few times
