I've used CP for years. A few things I can tell with experience:
- This medicine is not reef safe. It will kill all inverts.
- Very effective for brook and ich, especially when used with formalyn dips. Velvet not so much, but typically Velvet is a death sentence in fish anyways.
- It is not safe for biological filters, treat only in a hosiptal tank where you have the capability to preform frequent water changes.
- Wrasses seem to do well with it IME, except for Macropharyngodon genus.
- Seems to kill small gobies.
- It is a very powerful algaecide.
- Tends to turn water yellow, most likely from any latent algae die off
Heres a link to where you can get it...

Yes +1.
No Not Reef Safe. Hospital only. Can probably be used as a prophylactic treatment as well.
As with all things reef. Do your home work.
Thanks for this valuable information!
I did not look at the eBay link, but found another source here:

The above site had this, which is also interesting:
NOTE: CHLOROQUINE PHOSPHATE IS IN HIGH DEMAND & SHORT SUPPLY DUE TO THE OUTBREAK OF MALARIA IN EAST AFRICA. WHERE QUININE WAS USED IN HUMANS FOR MANY DECADES, THE DRUG OF CHOICE IS NOW CHLOROQUINE AS HUMANS WILL NOT FORM A TOLERANCE TO IT.
I am not a doctor or Veterinarian, nor do I play one on TV. My post is for information only, and I do not recommend that anyone use this product ever, for any reason.
It depends on what your treating honestly. CP can be hard to accurately dose. I prefer cupramine for just prophylactic QT treatment. Simple and effective.
CP was hard to get a year or two ago for this reason.... and expensive. Still is much more than a cheap bottle of copper, but to each is own. Copper gets a bad rep in this hobby, I use bulk ionic copper sulfate on large volume commercial systems (the really nasty stuff, looks like the blue meth from Breaking Bad) and never had an issue.I did not look at the eBay link, but found another source here:
