Well some changes to the nano. First I upgraded the AC30 to an AC70, running chemipure and purigen. I like that combo but I am open to suggestions to get the best results out of it. It's also got the filter sponge layered through out. It works pretty well overall, but clearer water is always a goal. I also upgraded the MP10 to the quiet drive. Thing is dead silent, highly recommend the upgrade.

I've added some new tank people, a fire shrimp, torch coral, acans, and some more zoas. Getting good growth out of everything. The branching gsp has already grown up probably a half inch, new zoa heads, and new frogspawn heads. My frogspawn is little bleached because it was too close to the lights, one of the challenges of such a shallow tank so I moved it down as much as I could and turned the intensity down. Blues at 65% whites at 55% - open to suggestions on lighting as well! Also I've had my first fish casualty, one of my snowflakes jumped out and I found him at the end of the day after work, so I'm down to one clown. I really liked the idea of having a pair, don't love the idea of introducing another one as I've heard it can be difficult.

Very nice tank. Although I've never had one, I really like the look of these tanks.

I too love the looks, but they present a set of unique challenges. Like the shallow depth and the length of the tank. The MP10 is plenty strong enough to get flow to the end of the tank when its on full blast, but it causes a sand storm because its towards the lower side of the tank. I can't move it up higher because it will suck in air causing bubbles. It's got to be the perfect position, perfect power, and some clever rock placement to avoid a sand storm or bubble filled tank. I think I got it pretty well placed to where everything has all the flow it needs/wants...for now.

I think you can buy a shield that goes right above the mp10. This way you can place it closer to the surface and not blast sand all over the tank.

That tank is so nice and well though out. Looks great! So whats with the crab? Is he still in the tank? I had a couple emeralds. They are not reef friendly. Cool little crabs but they suck! they eat coral, and any small fish they are lucky enough to grab. One of mine had a showdown with my large pistol shrimp the emeralds shell decorated his cave for a while. The other was caught and down the toilet it went when I found it feasting on my zoas. $5 crab $20 per polyp zoa. Not a tough choice to make.

Thanks! Weird, none of my emeralds have ever messed with any fish or corals, and so far this one has been good too. If I see him munching in any fish or corals, I agree, dude is a gone.
