jkennedy...It took me a minute to figure out what 60 cube you were referring to, that is a picture I saved that I found on another national forum (still haven't found out who it belongs to) that I am trying to emulate (I think it is Super clean too, that's why I am attempting the build myself, to see if I can actually pull this one off). So I put on my big boy pants today and went to HD, bought a few materials to at least start the framing of the "Project Cube." I am going to go broke, I went to Rockler this morning and found some new toys that I can't live without, so I will be saving my pennies for future gear. Anyhow, here are a few more pics from this afternoon, stay tuned more to come!!!

Slicktoppomp, Thanks for the kind words. I saw the Kreg jig a few years back when I went into Home Depot and they were doing a workshop, thought to myself, I could use a few of those tools for small projects, when they demoed the Kreg jig, I knew I was getting one. So my family always says I am so difficult to shop for and they asked what I wanted for Christmas (I told them I don't need anything, but they always get me something) so I thought on it for a few days and said I really like this tool they have at Home Depot, called the Kreg jig kit. That was my first tool I had ever received for a Christmas gift, and love this tool, so many applications! I told all of my family, from now on if you are set on getting me a gift, I would like gift cards from Rockler as I shop there quite often (so much cool stuff to play with). So I have started accumulating gift cards from Rockler and I am saving for a nice combo table saw/router table with vacuum system, a CNC machine that can build pretty much anything within a 36"L x 24"W x up to 3"thick material.

I plan on building my first workbench to put all my awesome wood working tools and equipment in/on by using the Kreg jig system. Anyhow, off to drill more pocket holes and then start assembly of the frame. Hope to have a finished frame and possibly some final facings done by end of today, my "helper" is assisting me today (my 5 year old daughter). Gotta love the kids!!!

I have a question, I have a 250 Watt Metal Halide, (6) bulb T5 light fixture, and a Reefbreeders 24" Photon. What does everyone think I should use on the cube setup, it will be a mixed reef, and I have used all of them with great results from each, but wondering what everyone else is thinking on this issue.

I think a mix of led and t5 is a good mix.

T5 with led combo. Im running the ATI LED powermodule on my 280 and its absolutely amazing. I cant trust LED's only, but having a combination of both gives plenty of growth and color options.
80 Gallon Cube (30"x25"x24"), Custom Sump with built in refugium, Quiet one 4000 return, BRS single reactor with GFO media, 36" Tek Light Fixture 6x39 Watt T-5, more to come.

Slicktoppomp/row12, I was already thinking about doing this and will more than likely go this route, just need to order a couple of Reefbrite XHO blue leds. I am hoping the stand and canopy turn out well. I haven't been this pumped about a build in a long time!!!

      Hey aquaculture,
How's the cube standing coming along? Looks good so far in the pictures above.
I just got a 60 gallon cube and need some inspiration to build my own stand...

JKennedy...that is my inspiration....I haven't finished the stand due to some unforseen circumstances, hopefully soon as I have everything else needed and would like to get my tank running once again.
