      New Tank

      Hi Everyone-

I am just setting up my first tank, and fortunately I was able to get some established live rock from a fellow reefer, that has some soft corals and what not already on it. However, I am not sure what is what. Can anyone help me ID what I have? So far, the tank has 2 clowns and a tang. Thanks

      -Ryan

so I assume the large purple-red tree like things are the kenya trees? and then the xenia is the pink-tan ones. What are the mushrooms? I didnt know there was much until I traded out the stock lights for a better light, and then stuff started to open up.

The shrooms seem to be the red in the bottom of the first picture. Hard to tell but looks like you also have some blue purplish sponge growing next to the xenia.

Don't look like strawberry nems, see if you can get a better picture for us.

+1 on the hydroids... not great but not the end of the world for the tank, if you are really worried about them just break away the stocks and cover the bases with super glue gel.

Also I'm not sure if it's part of the aquarium background or in the tank but it kinda looks like aiptasia on the right in the first pic...?

Fortunately that is just the background. No aiptasia that I have found so far. That's why I was confused what this was...was growing too fast but couldn't ID it.

Lol!!! That's F-ing funny they included in printing a nuisance anemone!

Looks like you got some decent life on those rocks. Like I said I wouldn't worry too much about the hydroids, knock em out...or not. But I would throw in a couple crabs and some snails to munch on that algae up there.
