You are right Gene. Your tank with T5s looks great. I don't remember, but did you have clams in your tank? Have you ever tried keeping clams under your T5s?

i am keeping a 3inch derasa and a 4inch crocea in my 100 gallon with 4 10k 48inch t-5 purchased from mparkis with an individual reflector on each one.
the derasa is doing awesome, the crocea looks like it could use more light.

okay, now I'm looking at two of these:

      http://cgi.ebay.com/T5-TEK-LIGHT-Flu...QQcmdZViewItem

But no bulbs included? Damn! Why are these so expensive compared to mparkis' T5s?

Thanks for the compliment. No, I've never tried to keep clams under my T5's. I'm sure the lower light clams would be fine, but I'd be worried about the higher light clams (maximas and croceas).

I'm curious why there's such a big price difference, too. When I got my T5's, Mike's weren't available so I got ATI bulbs with Tek reflectors in a retro kit. I wonder how Mike's compare. Anyone done a comparison?

Where did you get your figures for this amount? I've been going through my old bills, and don't seem to have been charged anywhere near that.

Hrmm... I just checked my bills, and SDGE website and it looks like average kwh rate is $.07-$.08/kwh, which is fantastic when compared to $.54/kwh.

Either way, I'm definitely going T5 on my Comeback Tank. W00T.

I have one of thse on my fuge (20" tall, lit from the side) and it seems to be working just fine. My mandarin is fat and happy, so the fuge is working as it should.

      Nick--

You really need to post pictures of your tank. I've never seen it.

OK $0.54/kwh was posted on post number 10 of this thread, it was a picture of a scanned bill. It seems the post has been deleted.

But you cant go wrong with T5 bulbs. Sunlight Supply Co. that sells TEK light sucks, one of the worst customer service experience I have had. Full rant coming sometime later.
