I just switched to red sea coral pro salt, i dont fully understand what the recomended dose is of salt for each gallon of water to mix, can someone that uses it help me understand to do this, trying for 1.025-1.026 salinity.

I would say it is all trial and error. I have a mug that I would use to scoop a certain amount of salt to mix 4.9 gallons of RODI. It stays around 1.023.
Mix 38.2 grams, or 1.6 ponds of salt for every 5 gallons of rodi water
1.025 35.0 ppt 480 ppm 38.2 g/l1.6 lb/5 US ga
People are saying about half a cup per gallon, does this sound correct? im going to do trial and error tomorrow
Half a cup is what I do per gallon then check and tweek it after.
Okay cool thanks everyone!
Don't mix it for more than a few hours. It has a tendency to precipitate pretty aggressively in my storage tanks when I forgot about it.
So how long do I let it mix?
i an air stone with RED SEA CORAL PRO along with current pumps in the mixing been. air is the key to mixxing it with out getting the white film.

So much cheaper and easier to buy it pre mixed bro. I used to mix but I ran into issues. Luis mixes it up correct and always on point just and FYI.
So i mix for no more than an hour in a half in cooler rodi water and do about 1/2 a cup per gallon then water change as soon as its good to go?
In my experience Cory, red sea pro won't properly mix until you pay for both bags of salt. Call reefers garage and pay for the second bag you took and it'll mix up just fine. ;-D
