Thanks for all that info and all the pics! Realistically, I'm still a couple months away from buying fish for my tank, so I'll check back with you to see how those guys are doing before I commit to any. I'll also be interested in seeing if either of your angels mess with your zoas at all.

Haha yep. My wife read all the books. We actually named him that from the latin name canius lupus. And just changed lupus to lupin.

I'm sure it'll be a nice set up.
If I were you I'd make a few changes to your fish list.
it's more about what will happen to your reef with them in it. And it's not about IF, rather than WHEN.
I'd remove the emperor angel, six line wrasse, and engineer goby.
All 3 will be destructive to your tank one way or another

Yeah its cool, i only have basic zoas and a ton i got for 99 cents off reefer garage ebay sales. I'm not to interested in the super expensive corals, i prefer the fish. If they want to destroy some stuff by all means lol i know the emperor will mess some stuff up when he gets big but it's worth it(my favorite fish). The engineer goby doesn't come out much, he just digs under the rocks and spits sand everywhere.
The 6 line came from a reef and he was in there for a couple years and never touched a thing. He's pretty calm in my tank...pokes around in and out of the rock all day.

2 coats of stain, one more today to even the color out a little better. Should i gloss it or leave it how it is?

You will want to put some sort of clear finish on it to protect the stain. Doesn't have to be gloss, though.

Tank is dead silent which is amazing! And I'd like to call out John who helped me with the build and bring me 200 gallons of Scripps water!! Thank you a ton, made it way easier lol
