Here goes a sad story:
About three months ago, I decided I wanted to get back into reefing. I picked up a beautiful rimless SolanaXL cube, and started to slowly get my equipment together to be ready to set it up as soon as I moved into my new place. This weekend is finally moving day, and boom... we chipped the tank during the move.
My girlfriend and I decided that a chipped aquarium isn't worth the risk on new hardwood, so we're scrapping the cube and starting from scratch. I'm really sad; I was really attached to this tank. It's a beauty.
At any rate, I'm not sure if the tank is usable. I filled it and let it sit outside today for about nine hours, and it didn't leak or show any bad signs, but the chip itself is pretty gnarly. If I had the time and/or skills, I'd probably replace the front panel (the only pane affected), and salvage the aquarium, but I just don't have those things right now, so I'm seeing if anyone on the forum is interested in it for a fair price.
The Chip
It's big. It's hard to photograph, but you get an idea of the size and extent. I've intentionally tried to take photos that make it look worse than it does in person, since I don't want to mislead anyone. Again, it held water for about nine hours today, but I'm not sure if that means anything.
At any rate, if you're interested, shoot me an offer. It's still sitting in the old apartment, and I'm just trying to cut some of my losses and hopefully find someone that might be interested in a nice fix-her-upper.
Peace,
Mike
