      Pond newbie!

So my new place I just moved into has a pretty cool pond already placed in my front patio.
I've always wanted a koi pond, but I don't know a lot about them, so anyone that does feel free to post advice or comments.
I do know it is not as deep as I would have built, less than 3 feet which I know is what most recomend, but somehow their fish have been thriving for years w/out any real predation.
I think these are just carp, but still cool to me, but I plan to add some color, thinking maybe something not too expensive, shabunkins maybe, maybe a couple butterfly koi.
Someone suggested a pleco for algae/cleanup, can those hang in a pond?
I do know it has pretty darn good flow.
Not sure what these lilies are, but they seem to do well, can I add anything else that will not become invasive?
They are topping off w/ tap, but I don't see any major HA or anything.
I also want to scape around it better, what plants might be cool?
I do wish to keep it fairly simple.

      Nice pond

Their pretty easy to take care of, just backwash the filter and change the water every few weeks. Regular additions of a barley powder should help keep the algae down. I like the clarity max brand. Also, tap water is fine for ponds, just make sure you de-chlorinate everything.

The lily is some kind of Nymphaea, they grow quick in the summer and slow in the winter. If you want a cool, coldwater algae eater try hifin carp. Their awesome when their big.

That's a very cool offer, and originally I was thinking about frogs, but my neighbor said sometimes the frogs get out of control noisy, so now I'm holding off on that plan.
Turtles, I guess they had one for quite a while and it was cool, I would consider one or two, I think, especially if small, but would they mess w/ any of my fish?
I might get some mosquito eaters that would be small enough that they could catch/eat them.
      How big are your turtles?
