      LED nano advice

      Hello

I've been out of the hobby for 4-5 years but my gf has kept an aquapod 24 running. I want to update her lights to Led from stock PCs and so much has changed. There are a lot of online options. Any obvious tips? Spend around $100-$150. Thanks in advance. PS I just got gifted new tank so will be jumping back in the hobby soon. Hello to those still around from back in the day. Afitz?

Do you want to keep the LED in the hood? Or can you hang a light?

Good point. The hood has to go because it's damaged. The light can't be hung because the ceiling is 3 stories high and the wall is exposed wood (she rents and can't drill the wood surface). I could make some kind of bracket for the stand or need one that can be on legs/attach to the rim. Thanks again

Kessil 150 with a goose neck would be nice for a 24. New your still over $200 plus the goose neck. Although I thought I saw one for sale here a couple days ago for $150. New under $150 you are going to be limited to a china box. The best one I have seen for the money is the Evergrow full spectrum D120. Under $100.

Ok thanks. I did see an affordable Kessel on Craigslist - she sort of likes the idea of having a split actinic and daylight dawn and dusk but this seems like a better way to go. Thanks

Beware of the craigslist. Kessil also makes grow lights that look just like the aquarium light. The reef radiance photon is really nice that would have all the features she is looking for. Still going to be over your budget. You might find one used on the forums. BTW the Reef Radiance Photon is the same as the Evergrow IT2040 and IT2080. You should also look at Ecoxotic Panorama pros. And the e series. those are going to be your least expensive controllable light.

nanoreef1 has 2 for sale. The Kessil is the perfect light for your tank. His prices are great. I would jump on that.
