ALK and pH

Hi everyone,

Is it normal to have pH 8.43 and Alk 2.29meq/L or 6.4 dkh? Every since i rebuilt my tank, pH was around 8.4-5 and alk was fluctuating between 2.86 and 2.29. I haven't been adding anything except for iodine, trace, and strontium. If I add park 1 alk it will raise alk but it will also increase pH. Right? And myh CA is very stable 420-450. Should I do anything?

I'm the opposite on this end. pH hangs out around 8.0 average over the course of the day. I keep ALK at around 8.0 dkh by dosing. IMO you don't need to worry a whole lot about pH. Get your ALK up and your pH will eventually stabilize.

yes get your CAL 450 ALK 8.4 MAG 1350 and your PH stabilize.

Thank you guys. Raising my ALK, CA had been pretty stable at 450. pH is still around 8.44 but kinda show signs of lowering.
