How big is your tank? the DC12000 is a monster.

I posted some basic product specs on the first page. If you are new to the hobby and need some equipment and cant afford the high end stuff. The Jebao pumps are a good start without breaking the wallet.

so I currently have a 125g but will be setting up a 300g soon. so I was looking at buying one that can I can use in both tanks. im thinking the wp40 since it has the power for the 300g but I think it might be a tad too powerful for the 125g. what do you guys think?

if you go with the WP40 I would get the twin WP40 with dual controller. The dual controller has 8 speeds and you can dial it down. As opposed to the the single controller that has only 3 speeds. 2 RW 15 would be perfect for your tank and would work in your upgrade plus you can add 6 more RW's of any size to it. The RW also has 8 speeds. I dont know how much longer Jebao is going to offer the old style 3 speed controller. If I were in your situation I would get 2 RW 15. Cost is slightly higher but it is a better option for those who are planning on going bigger.

      ok . thanks.
When I started in this hobby I looked at how big of a wavemaker I would need and I found that most use 10x the tank size. so a 125g tank would need one that is 1250gph. and the wp25 has max power of 2100gph.....but people use two in smaller tanks.....just wondering if I am looking at it wrong because it seems like one would do it easy.

if the info is correct I can use one wp40 on both tanks since I can put in on low for the 125g and adjust to higher setting for my 300g. I also have a wavemaker sitting around that is 800gph that I can use on the opposite end of the 300g just to catch the end of what the wp40 will put out.

is there something I am missing?

I saw igotcrab's tank, I believe a 120 or 125, his wp40(x2?) is dialed way back. The wp40 twin is a good choice and will remain relevant in the 300.

That all depends what you are looking for. I have twin wp25 on a 34 gallon it is set at speed 3. Anything above it puts water on my floor. I like having one either side of the tank. With the dual controller one pushes while one is off that way you get the same amount of flow going back and fourth. But there are several modes and it depends on what mode you have them in. If you look at the video on the first page that is my 34 with dual WP25's running at speed 3 and wave 1. If you are going to run these pumps I recommend at least 2 pumps 1 at either end of the tank. Some early wave makers were a single unit box pushing and pulling water creating the wave. Newer tech will synch 2 pumps to each other. One off one on in succession to the other. Yes one WP will make waves in your tank but the current will ultimately be less on the side without the pump. If you are upgrading to a 300 gallon get 2 RW 15. Or maybe a RW 15 and RW 20. you will have all the water flow in tank you will ever need.

You think for my tank two rw-20 would be sufficient?

Interested in 2 rw15's. Add me to the list. Where and when can these be picked up?
