      120Watt Chinese LED Fixture Questions

Ive googled my brain out and cant find an answer so Im hoping someone here will know.

Ive got an LED full spectrum fixture on my 60 cube. It works great and keeps my SPS happy. The unit come with two power chords. I thought one was for blues and one for whites but both run with one power plug. I dont even know why there are two unless it needs it for 120watts? I dont know if it matters but they are dimmable. One dims the blues and one dims the whites so they have to be o separate circuits. I would like my controller to turn the whites off first and then the blues 30-45 minutes later but I cant.
      Has anyone else seen this?

PS It has no brand. Just a bar code and the input/output voltages.

Very interesting. I have a 160w china box, 2 plugs, just like yours but the whites and blues are actually on separate channels. I wonder if it's wired wrong inside. Did you say the dimmers function properly?

Did you buy one with a US warranty?

I'm guessing then that they are both wired to the one plug. Do both colors work on both plugs?

yes. Either one I plug in will power both and dim both independently. They have two on off swithes too

Ok, yeah I'm guessing that both are tied into each of the power supplies. Not usually a problem unless you want to turn them on and off independently. You could try opening it to see if you can figure it out. There should be one line coming from each supply, then into the dimmer, then into the circuit board. What it sounds to me like is that each power supply has 2 lines, splitting to separate dimmers, then out to the circuit board. It may be as easy as cutting the criss crossing wires but I wouldn't know unless I actually looked at it.

So I took it apart finally and blew out all the dust. Ran some tests with multimeter and found that it's a failover. If one power supply fails, the other powers both. Took the bad power supply out and cleaned it up. Works as it's supposed to now.
