Goes into the filter
Only thing I can think of is do a cleaning of the system I usually clean my filter skimmer every couple months break them down clean them. But that's just maintenance. A chemiclean dose should do the job.
It will require lights out and a decent size water change.
So if it were me imo I would...
1.Clean my equipment/sump etc from build-up if it has been a while.
2.Chemiclean (follow instructions exactly! )
3. Make sure there's enough flow to keep debris from landing on rocks in deadflow spots and sandbed.
4. Do smaller more often water changes for the first 2 weeks.
5. Make sure pars are good.
But every tank is different. Best of luck.

what kind of water did/do u use? also whats ur phosphates level
plus one on increase flow/ no deadspots
Saltwater from petco this last time.
Which one? Carmel vallry had a serious crash few months back so be careful when buying as well. Go to Amazon I got a 5 g jug of TROPIC MARIN PRO it cost me about $70-74 nice quality mixes fast and good no clumping
I mean I have a 120g reef crystal mix. I went to the one in Temecula
what did u use to dissolve the original first batch of water?
Powerhead
let me rephrase. what was your water source from the first batch
Petco boxed water.
No RO DI? what is your phosphate level? Dont trust PETCO or your LFS to sell you 0 TDS DI water. Get a RODI system with a TDS meter save yourself some headache down the road. I get cyano on sand bed when my kid leaves the the shades on my slider open and when my RO DI unit needs new filters and is no longer producing 0 TDS water. How old is the tank? Cyano is something I dealt with when cycling a new tank, IME it goes away once everything is leveled out. If this is an established tank. you need to look into your water quality and the amount of light and nutrients your tank is getting. Are you running T5's? T5 will lose spectrum after 6 to 9 months causing algae outbreaks.
