      Fly River turtle for sale.

I've got a friend who's trying to sell his prized Fly River turtle. Shell diameter is about 18". The turtle is well taken care of and is hand fed. He's (my friend) going thru some personal issues and wants the turtle to go to a good home. It's currently in a 240 gal tank. 8'x2'x2'. It's pretty cramped in there for him, so we're looking for larger tank/pond for the turtle. PM if you're interested and I can Txt pics. Thanks.

Last I saw they were selling these for $2500 for a hatchling back in 2013. These are very rare and hard to acquire species due to export restrictions.

^ you're correct! These are really rare. There's only a few countries that still export them. It was purchased back in 2005 for $500 from pet kingdom. It was about 1 year old. It might have been $1500, but I can't remember. He hasn't mentioned a price to me. But I know he would rather take a lower price and make sure the turtle has a good home than sell it blindly for a couple of grand. He's already turned down a tortoise rescue. He said the guy he was talking to seemed too excited and then couldn't garauntee the turtle was going to a BIGGER home. He talked to a guy at the zoo. They wouldn't take it because it was a male. Makes sense. You only need one male to breed, but lots of females.

Talked to my friend. Turtle has a shell that's 20" in diameter. He's looking to get $1500 for it. But will take less money if its going to a 500+ gal tank.

Hi if the Fly River Turtle is still available I am interested. I have been looking for a couple to add to an 8,000 gallon display that I maintain at a local sporting goods store. Thanks.

Now that i have the turtle experts here, Are red eared sliders ok in a pond during the winter? My dad has a Big koi pond in duarte, ca and it kind of gets cold at night. Someone dropped off a slider in his pond and he is wondering if it will live in that water? thanks!

I have one already and am looking for another. I have extensive experience with the species. (Of course your friends turtle won't be going in the same habitat as mine.)
