So, I was down at Scripp's Pier getting water this evening for the first time in about three weeks. Ummm....has anyone else noticed the hose is about 1/3 the length it was, and has a pinhole leak about 2 feet from the end that's like a laser guided beam of eye death waiting to happen?

I go late at night and just pull the truck in to fill up a couple 32g rubbermaids. I was playing fire fighter with the second can's fillup on the far side of the truck...shooting water into it because the hose wouldn't reach! LOL I think I need to donate a hose to Scripp's.

      OK Ladies and Germs,

I just got back from putting another hose on. Should be plenty long enough, as it is the better part of a super long hose that I had. One of the maintenance guys said they ordered more hose, and will replace it when this one gets too short.

      Happy filling.

Are you sure it was the hose that soaked your pants.

Maybe it was caused by one of the surfer girls washing up.

Unfortnately there weren't any surfer girls washing up at 10:30 last night, but that would be a much better story than a hole in the hose... thanks for the new one.

Bigair's donated two hoses now. SDREEFS should get an E.B. Scripps style plaque.

Isn't 1350 a more appropriate level? Or does it depend on what other equipment/protocols you have (kalkwasser?)

Also, that post near the top mentioning what you have to do to 'fix' the scripps water doesn't mention the magnesium stuff, maybe edit that post so it's all in one place?

I have read that Magnesium should be maintained at roughly three times the level of calcium, so I am trying to keep it at 1250. Also overdosing of magnesium can be lethal for livestock. So I like to keep on the lower end.

Nick, can you please edit he original post to include magnesium dosing?
