Was just at scripps: The water being pumped in to the filter system has a nasty green/brown foam on the top, and didn't smell good at all. Definately give it a few more days.

anyone know if the scripps water is cool right now?
I was just there and didn't bother to smell it. It's going to spend the night in jugs in my truck bc I'm pathetic and lazy. Does that help any? : )
The air, though, smelled fresh and briney as I pulled up. I'm worried about the ash - they've been finding lead, arsenic, copper, and something else in it . . . it's got to eventually make its way to the sea especially with the rain.
yeah, thats what im worried about. All that run off and mudslides who knows...
Aw man, the water is probably no go right now... But there's supposed to be another big rain on Friday.
I would wait. I am going to get some Friday morning (as long it does not rain all night Thursday) and store enough to get me thru January.
Hopefully no major rain. I can't do it until Sunday.
Hi Guys,
Anyone pick up any of Scripps water recently and tested it? Looks like I will need some on Sunday!
Anyone? Anyone?
i filled up my containers on friday night (12-14-07). havnt tested it yet, but it smells and looks great. i know we cant rely on sight and smell but thats all i can say as of now. i will test soon and post results unless some one beats me to it.
Anyone know if its safe to pick up water right now? With the heavy rain this past weekend, I wasnt sure if it would be a good idea. It's been 3 days since it last rained I believe...
Safe. Always is, except for EXTREME red tides. No one I know has ever had problems with Scripps water.
I concur. I never worry about the rain other than me getting wet while I fill up.

Even with red tide i just use a dual micron bag at the end of the fill hose no problem
Filling up during the storms is my favorite time to fill up. I love the rain and i love scripps water.
