Scripps Water : Google Map, Quality, Transport

I have a 180 gallon that has been up and running for about a year and a half and have only used water from Scripps. I was doing 50 gal water changes about once a month, sometimes more. My corals never really grew and l lost number of LPS and SPS. The one's that didn't die just never grew. About 6 or 7 mos ago I stopped changing water just to see. Since I stopping water changes, my corals have started growing much better and some have doubled in size.
I feel like my success with coral started when I stopped doing so many water changes. IMO anything over a 5% change can “shock” corals. When we acclimate fish, do we suddenly dump 20% more water into their bucket? No and they are far more tolerant of water condition changes than many corals. As I see it, water changes are only for reducing nitrates, phosphates and adding trace elements and even then, it needs to be a gradual process in doing so.

I’m proud to say that I haven’t done a WC in about six months and the corals have been better. I do dose the big three daily.

I am curious to see what pH level (range) scripps water users are mantaining. If there is a way to do a poll, let me know. My range is 7.7 to 8.1 (average 7.9). (also, I dose Kalk for perspective and keep alk around 8.3)

I'm averaging the same according to the apex. 7.9 average, peaking at 8.23 and a low of 7.87

There is still a free source of water but it isn't at the pier anymore. I'm wondering how it's been after all these rains?

So where is the water filtered if its just a hose at one end of the pier drawing water from the other end?

Instead of going up biological grade you just continue up the street. Big complex on your right, big parking lot. Taps are in the back left corner.
