Question (HELP) Chiller help/recommendation to replace mine

I was wondering how everybody keeps a stable temperature in their tank, or what chiller they are using to keep their tank stable?

I have a chiller hooked up that has a spot for the heater to be plugged in, that way both of them never run at the same time, but the only problem is they only turn on 2° away from the set temperature.

For example: I set the temperature to 78°, but the chiller will not turn on until it reaches 80° and the heater will not turn on it until it reaches 76°, so I am swinging 4° on average every single day in my SPS tank which is not okay with me.

So I am essentially looking for a chiller that immediately turns on or off within 1° or less I want to have a perfectly stable tank and my chiller is just not cutting it. So if anyone knows of a chiller that will do what I am looking for please let me know and thanks in advance

You need to set your heater at the same temperature as your chiller... That way you will not have a 4 degree swing it will only be 2 degrees. It is normal for a chiller to go two degrees above and then bring it down to the set temperature. I am running an Aqua Euro Apex Titanium Chiller

Ok but then I wouldn't be able to use the heater feature that is built in with the chiller, Becuase its the chiller that's making the 4* swing.

That sounds like a big swing for using a chiller. Do you have a controller by chance? Maybe use that.

I use my heater through my RKL for a bit of redundancy. The RKL is set to shut off at higher temp in case the heater malfunctions and doesn't turn off by itself.

Apart from that, get some fans. I also leave my cabinet door and canopy open at night to help cool the tank down. I notice if I do this at night the chiller doesn't kick on as early. My tank usually runs from 77.5 to 80. If it hits 80 the chiller kicks on and knocks it back to 78 in about half an hour.

+1 for a controller. with my chiller and heater controlled by my apex i have about a .4* swing.
