Using Scripps water will cause all your tank inhabitants to die.
But that is not all, after they die they will comeback to life as evil versions of their former selves. They also will have the ability to fly, and breath air. They will use this new found power to force you to go buy salt, an ro unit, and many buckets.

hehe this topic is just too funny, I couldn't resist.

Here is the only true fact about scripps water:

The ONLY reason to use it is $$$. Does the cost of buying an RO Unit and salt to mix yourself end up being more expensive than the time and gas money to go to scripps to get salt water and somewhere else to get ro topoff water? If the answer is yes, use it, but there is no way anyone is gonna PROVE that it is better or worse.

of course you can use an RO/DI unit for topoff and still use Scripps water for the tank

How are the parameters on the Scripp water? are they ideal? I am all for free stuff but for me it will be a road trip. Worth it if I go that way I am sure.

Scripps is pretty much good to use right from the tap. If you're going SPS or anything that needs calc / alk, then scripps is lacking. You'll need to dose that or get a calc reactor to compensate.

For what it's worth, I also dose fiji gold. I saw a diference when I started dosing it, but I could just be crazy too.

Worth the trip from YUMA AZ??!???!

Absolutely not. First of all it is technically illegal to drive with more than like 10 gallons of water in your car since it totally throws off the cars center of gravity, and in order for it to be worth it you would need to get like 200 gallons in a truck of some sort.

worth it for me! no mixing, nothing. just plain, natural, good water (except for certain times of the year!). i get a few buckets to last me a month so i only spend like 5 bucks in gas a month to get it. worth it.
