      Webcam and Apex Fusion Issues

So I have been trying to get my webcam setup with my Apex but I keep striking out. Reading the forum isn't getting me anywhere either - must be missing/overlooking something. Hopefully you guys can help me out. Details: I am running from the fusion dashboard now. Camera is a foscam F19821W which is all set up ready to go in all other aspects. Port forwarding is complete and I can view it outside of my network.

      HELP

I could be wrong but I believe the Webcam function isn't available at the moment with Fusion. I'm sure Russ will correct me though

Well that would be any easy solution.....Although when I had a Neptune tech on the phone I brought up the topic and there was no mention of it not working. Let's see what Russ has to say.

I've been using this link: http://foscam.us/forum/how-to-get-jp...02w-t4328.html

to try and get things configured, but the second step is not working as advertised to access the stream in the web browser. I was thinking once that works I can use that URL for the fusion dashboard.

      No luck

I talked to the folks at foscam - they said if it is not working then there is a problem with that link, or maybe the person that was helping me is clueless. Theoritically, with those instructions, after the second step I should be able to past that URL into a web browser and see the video. Possibly using tinyurl.com to shorten it up if needed for Fusion. In any event I emailed their tech people to see what they have to say about it and if they have any solutions.

So in short I guess I am in a holding pattern unless Russ has anything pointers or any other IT guys out there versed in Networking.

Frankly, there are so many problems and inconsistencies with Foscams, I'm not getting involved at all with any posts about them on the NSCF. I picked up a Foscam a few years ago, and it was a complete PoS... tossed it in the trash after about 2 months.

My D-Links may not have the greatest video quality, but they just work.

But, if you PM me the URL or IP address and port and login info, I'll see what I can figure out for ya.

So I just ran this again this morning. For the first step I am getting the result of

      -2

      vice

      0

that the website specifies in the web browser. What does the difference in the numeric value mean and how do I get it to where I need it. This is probably where I am tripping up, but the IT involved is beyond my knowledge level.

So I got this to work this morning tinkering around with the URL provided by Foscam. I think something might have been lost in translation on the copy from the website over the notepad and then back to my web browser. Either way, problem solved - video is streaming to my fusion dashboard, albeit 10 seconds behind or so. Video doesn't work on my phone via Apex website, but that is another problem most likely related to apple.
