CC Starfish catching and eating tankmates?

I have a chocolate chip starfish in my 55 gal tank with a couple chromis, damsels, 2 cleaner shrimp, a coral banded shrimp, some snails and (before the other day &#128546 a Bi-Color Angelfish. The other day I found my CC Starfish eating my dead angel on the bottom of the tank. The angel seemed fine the night before and the water levels were good (slight nitrates). I have found my starfish eating other small fish in the past, but had thought the fish fell victim to my mean Hawk fish (who has been moved to a different tank). My question is if anybody has had or seen a chocolate chip starfish actually catch a live fish. The starfish isn't very big, maybe about 3 to 4 inches tip to tip.

Any help or advice will be greatly appriciated! I am new to the hobby and this is my first time posting to the forum 😆

      Thanks

I've heard of starfish, as well as coral banded shrimp, catching and eating sleeping fish before. I don't think it was ever a chocolate chip star though.

Now that you mention it, the coral banded does get a little snappy when fish get close to him, not sure what he does when the lights go out. Maybe I will put him in with my hawk fish and see how it works out.
      Thanks!

      Any more opinions?

I HIGHLY doubt a chocolate starfish would catch any fish, even if they are sleeping. The fish probably died which made a easy meal for the starfish.
