      Not using cool white?

I have a hydra 52 and I'm not a fan of the white light. How will it effect coral growth and color if I don't use the cool white? I keep normally lps and softies I have some birds nest that's about all the sps I have

Most of the light req for growth falls in the blue/violet range of light. Cool white has a sharp peak in the blue range and then a smooth curve from from about 500nm to 700nm. Neutral white has less of a sharp peak in the blue range, but has a higher smoother, more parabolic curve from 500nm to 700nm. Which means neutral white provides more green, yellow, orange, and red than cool white. Cool white is actually old led technology. That's why to get full spectrum AI adds reds and greens to their lights. So the white led is not essential because you've got the violet, blue and deep blue LEDs. But you will have to use them if you want look at you're tank and not feel like your in a night club and view corals with a more natural look.
