I figure some of them are bristle worms. But what are the thin red ones that look like strands of algae? Can there be too many?

They can be beneficial for the reef but at times they multiply like rabbits, certain wrasses will munch on them. They are not the prettiest thing to look at though and definitely not pleasant to touch

I have never understood why people freak out about worms in their tank. Bristleworms won't take over your tank. Their population will be dependent on how much food they have to eat. All of those worms are a good thing. While there is nothing wrong with having critters that will eat them, I would not worry too much about specifically finding a predator for them.
