Neptune Apex Automatic Lights w/ Cabinet Doors

Controller gurus ....I am looking for a way to trigger LED lights within my stand to turn on when a cabinet door is open. I am thinking there must be some kind of inexpensive pressure switch of sorts that I can tie into my breakout box that will turn on the LED lights (plugged into energy bar) when the switch is triggered by opening a cabinet door.

Any ideas, or suggestions on changing to get the same result? We currently have a motion activated LED strip, but it goes through batteries to quick and does not yield full coverage under the stand.

Neptune Apex Automatic Lights w/ Cabinet Doors

Magnetic window/door alarm switches work great. I got a set at Fry's.

      Russ -

Thanks for the input as usual. I will look into that. On a side note, any idea when the Apex compatibility is coming for the waveline pumps???

Russ what gauge wire were you using for those magnets to tie into your B/O box. I order a set of similar magnets, thanks for the lead BTW. Also, from what I can gather you have to program the lights in this fashion based on whether the magnet is normally open or closed and then go from there with triggering the lights in addition to wiring the proper screw set on the magnet itself to the B/O box.

Any insight/programming help would be appreciated so I can get out in front of this one and get the install done right when the arrive. Thanks again.

The signal the Apex uses is tiny. You can use any smaller gauge wire, 18-24 gauge. I used cheap 18ga speaker wire.

The switch I got has three terminals - NC NO & ground.
Wire it so that the switch is open when the door is closed. Then program the outlet in the Apex

      Fallback OFF
      Set OFF
      If SwDoor CLOSED Then ON

      Russ -

I am just getting around to wiring this up. I have a NC, NO, and Comm terminal on my mag switch. Which terminal do I need to use? TIA, again.

OK I believe I have the wiring figured out - but having an issue with an outlet. I have the outlet Set ON for troublshooting, however it is not on when plugged in. I have verified the light works. I tried power cycling the energy bar, and the light came on for a little bit. However once the status lights on the modules go from yellow to green, the light goes out and the outlet stops working. Any ideas?????

I am having this issue with all my outlets except the ones I have been using. I have been using outlets 1-3, 4 is not usable due to outlet 3's plug. So I have verified that this happens with outlets 5-8. Anyone have any ideas???

Programming code for what? I have the outlet set on (Set ON). That's it, yet the light doesn't stay on. I decided to set it on when my switch positions weren't yielding any results and then discovered the problem at hand.
