Blue Throat trigger not eating acting depressed?

I've had my make blue throat trigger for over a year and he is big fat and eats like a pig. Starting last Friday he decided to stop eating - won't even look at food. He started sitting all day on the bottom and would move sparingly from one spot to another. I can see no signs of any sickness or scratches or anything physically wrong? It's day 6 now with no food and he is having a tough time keeping his balance, he seems to wedge himself in spots but the water is pushing him around.

Two days ago his mate the female trigger stopped eating and now she is hiding in her usual sleeping spot all day and is showing no interest in food. I'm afraid she is going to have the same fate?

I have about 12 other fish and they are showing no ill signs at all. My corals are doing fine and water paramaters look good.

Any suggestions on what might be causing this and anything I can do save these guys?

I've had this happen to a group of lyrtail anthias i had for over a year. they stopped eating one day and started hanging out on the bottom of the tank. They ALL DIED within two days. Not sure what caused it, but from the symptoms looks like your fish is going to have the same fate, sorry if i couldn't be of any help, just sharing my similar experience and the outcome, good luck though hope your fish pull through.

Have you added anything new to the tank within the last 6 weeks? Have you done anything different to your tank recently?

Internal parasites? I had lyretail that stopped eating all of a sudden. Treated the tank with prazipro, and he started eating the next day. I would take the sick fish out asap and treat in a qt

Thanks for the feedback. Nothing new added to the tank.

Thanks for the suggestion of Prazipro has anyone else had experience with this product? I would have to add this into the DP as these triggers are usually buried in rock.

I have dose my dr with prazipro countless times over the years. No effects on shrimps. Just make sure you remove any ornamental worms.

I went to the store to pick up the prazipro and he was concerned about using it with the corals. He talked me into pulling the fish out and QT him with Cupramine. I got him out and started treating with Cupramine - anybody have experience treating with this method?
