So basically the law only only applies to the guys collecting and retailers, not private owners. They would have to catch the collectors before the fish was sold to ensure the paperwork is there. That's good to know.

To fully protect yourself I would keep your receipt so you can verify where it was purchased. That way there is no question of who collected it and so on.

Really this whole nonsense needs to be put to bed, as the only facts, not assumptions, in 4 pages were from Jeff. And all the hate is irrelevant, and not going to change anything. Way to go Brett. Enjoy your awesome fish. I would say that the discussion over the legality of having it has been put to bed. Can't wait to come by and see it sometime.

Ok, so let's leave the comments to how much you appreciate the fish, the care needs of the fish, how aggressive they are or how crazy Brett is for turning his house into Sea World. Anything beyond is going bye bye.

      Thanks!

Miniature bred sea turtles would be one of the greatest things this hobby has ever seen, lol. Maybe only behind miniature dolphins.

Finally figured out what this guy likes to eat, SCALLOPS! So anybody thinking of getting one and having trouble with it eating, try fresh scallops. He gobbled them down hard. Had to be hungry too after 2 weeks of not eating.

      Thanks!
I cant believe I missed this thread. Back in 1993 I came into some money. (bad thing for an 18 year old) So I bought a 200 gallon Clear For Life tank and sump from Encinitas Tropical Fish. The sump was a noisy wet dry system with a huge trickle down section with Bio Floss. It hummed gurgled and just sucked to have in my house. But I loved it. I was a kid and had no idea how to properly maintain a saltwater tank of that size. My experience up to that point was small fresh water tanks and a 40 gallon all in one salt water tank. I wanted to turn my "rented house into Sea World" I was just stupid I looked for stuff to put in the tank that I have just stayed away from. Once tank was cycled I found a small stingray and a cuttlefish in Escondido. I thought they would would be cool to have. After a month I gave the cuttlefish to a coworker that had a small aquarium maintenance business. cuttlefish was not a good Idea. That very cute cuttlefish murdered everything in my tank. I would buy shark eggs watch them hatch keep them for a bit then give them to my coworker. I tried an octopus that ended in disaster. If only SDREEFS was around back then. So I kept the stingray, and a small black banded shark. Added some various Tangs. Then On a trip to Vegas I found a Juvenile Garibaldi. I had to have it. It was such a cool fish but became mean and territorial. It bullied my shark and would chase the stingray around the bottom of the tank. Long story short I had to get rid of it. I put it on the pennysaver and got back what I paid for it. They are very pretty and cool to have but they need someone like Brett to take care of them the way they need to be cared for. Bretts set up is awesome and you can tell he takes a good time out of his day caring for his tanks. The reason I posted on this is so people new to the hobby look into want you are putting into your tank do your research. Back in the late 80's and 90's places like this did not exist LFS would sell you anything and some would not caution you on the care and upkeep on what they sold you.

Brett needs some saltwater crocks so his dogs have something to play with. I do like the idea of mini dolphins
